Summary:
Art I chose to do this lighting because I liked how they were warm colored. Being warm brought out all the colors in the shot and made the interviewees pop off the white background more. I used these angles because you don’t want to have the cameras directly pointed at their faces because you want the interviewer and the interviewee to have a more personal time together so they won’t be as nervous on camera. I made sure to have open ended questions so that way when they answered they had to explain their answers. When I was researching recipes for my muffins and sweet butters I prioritized finding two very similar recipes with the only main difference being the inclusion and absence of eggs. By keeping the type of muffin and recipe similar, I hoped that it would make it easier to directly compare the two muffins. Otherwise, someone could prefer blueberries to chocolate chips and bring that bias into their choice. When actually creating the muffins, I followed the recipes exactly in order to control as many variables as possible. This included keeping a clean working environment and frequently cleaning to prevent cross-contamination of the vegan muffins with the non-vegan muffins. English For this project, I set out to understand the minds of a vegan and a vegetarian, ultimately contextualizing each of their lifestyles. Through a series of interviews, I learned that vegan and vegetarian minds are very alike and very different. The vegan almost sounded like a vegetarian because she didn’t make her decision based off of the environment and she didn’t want to teach others about being vegan. The vegetarian was very involved in helping the environment and she wanted to help her friends become vegetarian too. They did both agree that school lunch options were tragic and that they chose to do this based on moral reasons. |
